After msising the 1st GP at Silverstone, Ferrari makes its debut in the newly F1 World Champioship in Monaco, the first Official GP of more than 1000, with the 125 F1. Ascari y Villorersi qualified 7th and 6th respectively on Saturday. at the race on Sunday,  at the 1er Curve of de Tabaccaio there is collision due to a wave from the sea, 9 cars are lost in the race. Fangio wins with Alfa Romeo from first to last lap and Ascari with this 125 F1 (40) is second also from first to last lap.

Alberto Ascari, born in 1918, was the son of another legendary driver of the "Golden Years of Racing" before WWII.  He was a multitalented racer who competed in motorcycle racing before switching to cars. Ascari won consecutive world titles in 1952 and 1953 for Scuderia Ferrari with models alson included in thsi collection.  He was the team's first World Champion and the last Italian to date to win the title. Ascari was noted for the careful precision and finely-judged accuracy that made him one of the safest drivers in a most dangerous era. As his father in 1925, he was killed in an accidend when testing the Ferrari D50 at Monza in 1955.......at the same age of his father.
