The III Grand Prix des Nations was a 1950 non-championship Formula One race held at the Circuit des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on July 30. This was the final Nations Grand Prix after the event organizers permanently cancelled the event following a fatal accident during the race.
Near the end of the race, Alberto Ascari's Ferrari engine blew up, covering parts of the circuit in oil. Luigi Villoresi lost control of his Ferrari when he encountered the oil, crashing over a barrier and into spectators. Villoresi survived the accident with a fractured leg, but three spectators were killed and a further 20 were injured.
